In Hebrews 11 faith is shown as certain of things not seen. In Psalms we’re told to taste and SEE the LORD is good.
It looks like the idea that the LORD is Good is a fact - which is demonstrated (as Romans 1 shows) throughout all creation. You don’t need faith to see how Good God is.
But then other things like the hope of a coming salvation, the hope the God will work in a situation, the hope that Jesus will come again with a new resurrection - these things we don’t see. These things need faith.
It’s not that I believe in God because I DON’T see Him. In fact the opposite - I believe in God because I see His work around me all the time.
My Faith therefore is for the things that God has promised, but have not yet happened.
